Box Score Atlanta, Ga. --- The Clark Atlanta University Lady Panthers used a huge second half run to come away with the victory Tuesday night in Epps Gymnasium, defeating the Selma University Bulldogs, 101-70. A game that was only a seven point difference at halftime was blown open in the second half as the Lady Panthers outscored the Bulldogs, 58-34. Mykala Jones once again led the attack for CAU with 22 points, with Siera Bubb adding 18 points and 13 rebounds. Shannon Watts and Shameka Hayes, 17 points each, led the majority of the offensive output for the Bulldogs.
Clark Atlanta opened up the second half with a 38-7 run over the first ten minutes of the final frame. Selma would not be able to pull the game any closer than a 22-point deficit the rest of the way as the Lady Panthers cruised to victory. Whitney Collins (16 points), Iyana Spatcher (14), and Sydni Davis (11) joined Jones and Bubb to give CAU five players in double-digit scoring on the night.
The Lady Panthers will return to Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) action as they travel to Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina, on Thursday, January 22nd. Tip-off for that contest is scheduled for 5:30 PM. CAU (7-7, 3-4 SIAC) will return to Epps Gymnasium on Monday, January 26th, when they will take on Paine College. Tip-off is set for 6 PM. Scholar-Athletes from all of Clark Atlanta's athletic teams will be honored during the night.
