Lady Panthers Cruise Past Central State in SIAC Tournament Quarterfinal

Clark Atlanta Advances to semifinal to face winner of Spring Hill and Tuskegee

ATLANTA – The Clark Atlanta women's basketball team delivered a commanding performance on both ends of the floor, rolling past Central State 67-38 in the SIAC Championship Tournament Semifinal on Wednesday afternoon. The Panthers (23-6, 16-4 SIAC) advance to play the winner of No. 2W Tuskegee and 6W Spring Hill on Friday afternoon (Mar. 7) at 2 p.m. inside Forbes Arena.

Clark Atlanta set the tone early, outscoring Central State 18-9 in the first quarter behind aggressive rebounding and high-percentage shooting in the paint. The Lady Panthers continued to build their lead, taking a 35-18 advantage into halftime.

Atreonia Garner led the way with 12 points and nine rebounds, while Brooklyn McKinley added 10 points, including a pair of three-pointers. Clark Atlanta's defense forced 20 turnovers and converted them into 20 points. The Lady Panthers also controlled the glass, outrebounding the Marauders 46-35.

Central State struggled to find an offensive rhythm, shooting just 27.3% from the field. Nadya McCown paced the Marauders with nine points, but the team managed just two three-pointers on 14 attempts.

The Lady Panthers continued their dominance in the second half, maintaining a double-digit lead and holding Central State to just seven points in the fourth quarter. Corriana Evans chipped in nine points and four rebounds for Clark Atlanta, while Amberly Brown added six points and four blocks off the bench.

Clark Atlanta will return to action on Friday, March 7 against the winner of No. 2W Tuskegee and 6W Spring Hill at 2 p.m. inside Forbes Arena on the campus of Morehouse College.
