McGee Wins Heptathlon, Lady Panthers place 2nd At Morehouse Relays

Lady Panths finish 2nd at 2024 Morehouse Relays

ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Clark Atlanta women's track and field team took the short trip next door to compete in the 2024 Morehouse Relays at B.T. Harvey Stadium. The Lady Panthers accrued 190.5 points among several outstanding performances to secure a second-place finish at the historic meet.

Shynique McGee placed first in the women's heptathlon after tallying 3,715 points across the seven events. McGee marked a personal best in the high jump with a 1.51m jump to finish first in the event followed by a 1st place finish in the 100m hurdles, a 1st place finish in the 200m (27.38), 1st place in the long jump (5.06m), 1st in the javelin throw with a 24.82m toss, and 2nd place in the women's shot put (8.58m).

Anniyah Williams charted a 1st place finish in the women's 100m race with a time of 12.46.

Karon Warren finished the women's 400m in 2nd place with a 56.96 mark. Freshman Lailah Sellers rounded out the women's 800m in 2nd place with a time of 2:23.92, while also placing 1st in the 1500m race.

Naomi Andrews hoisted herself into 1st place in the women's pole vault with a 1.70m mark to add 10 points to her team's score.
