ATLANTA, GA. – Clark Atlanta rallied strong for three close sets against Central State. There were 36 tie scores and 19 lead changes through the three-set match. Clark Atlanta won the match 25-21, 26-24, 25-22 to improve to 7-12 overall, 4-5 in the SIAC.
Clark Atlanta hit .209 and recorded 41 kills in the match.
Shynique McGee led the way with a recorded double-double earning 14 kills while hitting .235 and 16 digs.
Jaelyn Williams complemented McGee with a season-high of 10 kills and an astounding .769 hitting percentage. Jalen Dickerson and
Makenzie Austin made the offensive drive complete with 6 and 7 kills, respectively.
Sanaa Simmons tallied 26 assists for the Lady Panthers. Freshman libero,
Trenity Pender, supported McGee's defensive efforts with 12 digs.
Clark Atlanta scored the final six points of the critical third set on a serving drive by
Sanaa Simmons, who led the Panthers with 4 service aces in the entire match.
Shynique McGee finished the match with 3 hard-hitting swings.
The Panthers take the court again against Kentucky State at 3:00 PM today to complete their season play against the SIAC West.
