ATLANTA, Ga. - For the second-consecutive season Clark Atlanta and Tuskegee will face off in the season opener. The 2015 entry into the long-standing rivalry was the 74th overall meeting and saw the home Golden Tigers win 26-0.

Dashawn Blow saw reps at quarterback in the 2015 meeting, going 7-for-8 for 58 yards. Blow added 21 yards rushing on four carries.
 
Jaha McCray led the Panthers in the 2015 game with 40 rushing yards on 11 carries to go along with 25 receiving yards on four receptions.
 
The defense was paced by Jaquatin Victrum (five tackles - 1 TFL) and Jacob Mitchell (four tackles) behind All-American senior Joshua Tate. In the game that propelled the senior campaign for Tate he tallied seven tackles, one interception, and blocked three kicks in the game.
 
Clark Atlanta was chosen by the SIAC members to fourth in the Eastern Division; behind Albany State, Morehouse, and Ft. Valley State. CAU was chosen to finish ahead of Benedict.
 
Three Panthers were chosen to the All-SIAC Preseason Second Team. On offense Brenton Martin (WR) and Jaha McCray (RB) were selected. In 2015 Martin led the Panthers in receptions (29), receiving yards (308) while scoring twice. McCray was a dual-purpose weapon out of the backfield with 446 yards rushing, 229 receiving yards and contributed 77 yards on kick returns while finding the end zone twice. Jaquatin Victrum (DB) was honored after a  campaign in which he registered 50 tackles - one off the team high - while adding three tackles-for-loss and six quarterback hurries.
 
In season-opening games Clark Atlanta has posted a 29-67-7 overall record. The most recent victory to open a season came in 2010 as CAU defeated Lane 20-6 as the second of back-to-back victories in the first game of a season.
 
2015 Team Highlights (Offense): CAU was second in the SIAC in time of possession, averaging 32:58 of offense. The Panthers ended the season fourth in the conference standings in passing offense throwing for 169.2 yards/G.
 
2015 Team Highlights (Defense): Clark Atlanta boasted  a defense that held the opposition to just 14.8 1st downs/G to conclude the season second amongst SIAC teams. The Panther defense allowed the opposition to convert 37.5% on 4th Down to rank 4th best.
 
2015 Team Highlight (Special Teams): Clark Atlanta led the SIAC in punt return average with 16.6 yards/Return.
 
2015 Individual Highlights (Offense): All-SIAC selection Brenton Martin was T-2nd with 3.4 receptions/G and 8th with 36.9 receiving YPG.
 
All-SIAC selection Jaha McCray scattered his name in the SIAC rankings. The native of Jacksonville, Fla. recorded the longest rush in the SIAC with a 98-yard touchdown run at Benedict on his way to a pair of 100-yard rushing games. McCray was 8th in the conference  in both yards/G rushing (53.9) and receptions/G (3.1).
 
2015 Individual Highlights (Special Teams): Deandre Jackson recorded a single-game best 168 combined return yards at West Georgia. Combining rushing, receiving, and return yards the Panthers placed Jackson (6th - 102 YPG) and McCray (7th - 91.9 YPG) in the SIAC top-10 in overall yards per game.

SERIES SPOTLIGHT: This is the 75th meeting between the two programs with CAU trailing the series 15-55-4 with the panthers scoring 754 points compared to 1,638 points scored by the golden tigers. the most recent CAU victory came in 2006 with CAU wining 10-6.
