Panthers Drop Road Contest to Albany State

ALBANY, Ga. – The Panthers struggled offensively on the road, ultimately falling to Albany State, 32-7, on Saturday afternoon inside ASU Coliseum

HOW IT HAPPENED 
  • The Golden Rams jumped out to a 3-0 lead at the end of the first quarter behind a 33-yard field goal at the 11:58 mark.
  • Albany State added on 10 more points in the second quarter to mount a 13-0 lead with 5:34 left to play in the first half.
  • Clark Atlanta got on the board following a one-yard rush from Donte McCall to cut the margin to 13-7 with just over a minute to play in the first half.
  • ASU went on to score 19 unanswered points throughout the remainder of the contest to secure a 32-7 win on their home field.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
  • Xzavier Jackson threw for 158 yards on 16-of-40 completions. 
  • Ronnie West led the receiving corps with a season-high nine catches for 91 yards.
  • Carter Mason, Kurtis Waye, and Eric Searcy led the defense with seven tackles apiece.
  • The Panthers led the air attack with 158 yards to the Golden Rams' 152 for the game.
UP NEXT
Clark Atlanta will remain on the road as they head to Miles College on Saturday, October 18. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. CT inside Sloan-Alumni Stadium.
