Clark Atlanta Announces 2016 Football Schedule

ATLANTA, Ga. - Clark Atlanta University has finalized the football schedule for the 2016 season featuring five games at home and five road games. In the mix this upcoming season will be back-to-back home games to end September and begin October. The schedule also sees the Panthers leave the state of Georgia just once.

For the second-consecutive season Clark Atlanta will open versus Tuskegee University on Sept. 3. The 2015 season opened on the road, this time the Panthers will be at home.

Clark Atlanta will be on the road in Week Two and Week Three. The second game of the season will see the Panthers leave the state of Georgia for the lone trip of the season, to Wilberforce, Ohio, versus Central State University on Sept. 10. The road stretch concludes the following week at Fort Valley State.

Back-to-back home games on Sept. 24 versus Ave Maria from Fla. and Oct. 1 versus Morehouse proceed a mid-week trip to Rome, Ga. Clark Atlanta will play Shorter University from the Gulf South Conference on Oct. 6, a Thurs. night, from Barron Stadium.

Oct. 15 will see the Homecoming game played versus Benedict College. CAU will make the road trip to Albany, Ga. to face Albany State on Oct. 22. The final home game of the season will be played on Oct. 29 versus Miles College for Senior Day.

The 2016 season ends on Nov. 5 as the Panthers head north to face Division I - FCS opponent Kennesaw State. This will mark consecutive seasons where the final regular-season opponent competes on the FCS level, after facing Samford University to end 2015.

The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Championship Game is slated to be played on Nov. 12 from a To Be Determined location.
