GAME NOTES: Football versus Stillman

ATLANTA, Ga. - In the Week 5 loss at Morehouse, Matthew Vincent (No. 12 | QB | Jr. | Miami, Fla.) sparked the rushing game with two scores. The scoring runs were the first
rushing scores of the season for Clark Atlanta while also marking the first points scored away from the friendly confines of CAU Panther Stadium.

Clark Atlanta special teams boasts the No. 2 return average for punts in the SIAC with 18.2 YPR. CAU returners have fielded eight punts and gained 146 yards - with a longest return of 52 yards.

Joshua Tate (No. 7 | DB | Sr. | Memphis, Tenn.) sits No. 2 in the SIAC for defensive backs. The senior has six pass break-ups while recording a conference best (tied) three interceptions.

The Panthers defense has surrendered just 73 first downs in 2015 - good enough for third best in the SIAC. The opposing offenses have moved the chains 34 times rushing, 31 passing, and eight times have been advanced by penalty.

Helping to keep the first down count low has been a stingy defense that has allowed only a 29.3% conversion rate on third down and 36.4% on fourth down. Opposing teams are 14-for-58 on 3rd and 4-for-11 on 4th Downs. Both ranking in the top-half of the SIAC.

The defense continues to be strong in the red zone, where the opponents are just 17-for-27 in scoring chances. The defense has only yielded 15 touchdowns and two field goals from close range.

Stillman enters the game with the reigning SIAC Offensive Player of the Week in quarterback Brett Standifer. Standifer completed 19-of-27 pass attempts (70% completion percentage) for 279 yards and three touchdowns without an interception in Stillman's 29-17 win over Lane.

The 279 passing yards are the only SIAC effort this season to surpass the 252 yards tossed by Matthew Vincent versus Fort Valley State.

SERIES SPOTLIGHT: Clark Atlanta has struggles in eight prior meeting with the visiting Tigers of Stillman College. Stillman holds a 6-2 advantage, Clark Atlanta claimed victories in 2008 (48-36) and 2010 (19-14). Stillman has won four in-a-row, all under the guidance of current head coach Teddy Keaton.
