Box Score Atlanta, Ga.---Sophomore running back Montavious Taylor's season-high four touchdowns carried the Clark Atlanta University Panthers to a 41-0 victory over the College of Faith at Panther Stadium Saturday.
Taylor rushed for a season-high 187 yards on 12 carries including a 55-yard and 49-yard TD run while averaging 15.6 yards per carry and scoring 24 of CAU's 41 points. The Panthers scored on six of their first eight possesions prior to the half capped by Taylor's fourth rushing touchdown. Freshman Shaquan Mitchell anchored Clark Atlanta's third scoring drive with a 35-yard touchdown to give the Panthers a 21-0 advantage. Quarterback Trenton Earl's 20-yard pass to Travious Blair swelled the lead to 34 with 8:24 remaining in the second quarter. Both teams remained scoreless in the second half.
CAU senior linebacker Bre'nard Williams finished with a team-high seven tackles including two for a loss while William Kimmey and Antonio Mallard finished with one sack each. As a team, the Panthers held College of Faith to six first downs and 122 total yards. Offensively, CAU (2-4, SIAC 0-3) tallied 375 yards of total offense with 318 on the ground.
Next, Clark Atlanta will host its fourth consecutive HOME game against Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) East Division foe Benedict College Saturday, Oct. 18th, at 2 p.m., in Panther Stadium.
