Panthers Fall to 0-2 Start

Box Score Atlanta, Ga.---Despite 224 total rushing yards, the Clark Atlanta University Panthers only found the endzone once as they dropped to 0-2 on the season after a 27-6 loss to Stillman College Saturday at Panther Stadium.

Freshman running back Montavious Taylor garnered 85 rushing yards on 17 carries including a 1-yard run to put the Panthers only score on the board with 8:36 remaining in the game. Stillman quarterback Josh Straughan anchored the Tigers' offensive attack that managed 508 total offensive yards, 345 of which were in the air and three passing TDs. Late in the second period, the Tigers climbed to a 13-0 lead after two quick touchdowns before the half. With the momentum swing in its favor, Stillman (2-0) added two more touchdowns in the third quarter for a 27-0 lead to start the fourth before the Panthers late score.

Defensively, linebacker Bre'nard Williams led the Panthers with a game-high 12.5 tackles including 11 solo tackles followed by Rashad Bryant and Stevon McGill with seven tackles each. Next, CAU will host Fort Valley State University Saturday, Sept. 21, at 3 pm. in Panther Stadium.
