Peoples Gains Valuable Experience with the Eagles

Atlanta, GA- Clark Atlanta University defensive backs coach, Cory Peoples, was one of six coaches awarded an internship with the National Football League’s (NFL) Philadelphia Eagles as part of the Bill Walsh Minority Coaching Fellowship Program.

The Bill Walsh Fellowship is a program that all 32 NFL teams are involved in each year that gives talented minority collegiate coaches and former NFL players the opportunity to grow professionally and to enhance their coaching abilities by working during a team’s training camp and preseason.

“I was humbled by this awesome opportunity to learn from and work with NFL coaches through the Bill Walsh program that provided a coaching experience for me like no other while trying to achieve my goal of being an NFL coach,” said Peoples.

Peoples, who spent training camp with the Eagles in 2005 after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent, returned to familiar grounds, but this time as a coach. During the program, he spent two weeks with Eagles in training camp and received a hands on coaching experience while being involved in every aspect of camp.

“It was the best experience I have ever had as a coach and I grateful for the chance to work with Eagles organization,” Peoples added.

A native of South Carolina and former standout defensive back  at Georiga Military College and the University of South Carolina under legendary coach Lou Holtz, Peoples will enter his third season as the defensive backs coach and special teams and recruiting coordinator with the CAU football program.
