ritten by: Alyssa Latney) --- The Clark Atlanta University Panthers ended their 2012 football season with a 37 - 12 conference loss to the Tigers of Stillman College on the road Saturday.
The Panthers had a tough first half managing more penalty yards (60) than offensive yards, 38. Junior running back Joshua Andrews led the team while averaging 3.2 yards.
Clark Atlanta trailed 17 - 0 in the third period before sophomore quarterback Tyree Williams found senior wide receiver David Grace for a 48 yard touchdown pass. The extra point attempt failed leaving the score 17-6 Stillman. The Tigers extended their lead shortly thereafter with a 20-yard pass from quarterback Joshua Straughan to Dondre Purnell that gave them a 24-6 advantage to end the third quarter.
Only 48 seconds into the fourth quarter, Wlliams rushed for the Panthers' second touchdown that slighlty closed the gap, 24-12. The Tigers wiggled out two more touchdowns in the final 10 minutes that secured the victory.
With the loss, the Panthers finished the season in fourth place in the SIAC East Division with a 2-6 conference record and 2-8 overall.
