Garner Earns Preseason POTY, Three Lady Panthers Earn Preseason Honors, Clark Atlanta Projected to Finish First in Eastern Division

SIAC Women's Basketball Preseason Honors announced

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has announced its 2025-26 Preseason All-Conference teams. Atreonia Garner was named SIAC Women's Basketball Preseason Player of the Year. Three Lady Panthers earned First-Team honors, including Atreonia Garner, Trinity Jones, and Albany State transfer Keyra Peterson.

The Lady Panthers were also projected to finish in first place in the SIAC Eastern Division.

Atreonia Garner ranked second in the conference in scoring with 15.2 points per contest, while also ranking eighth in rebounding, pulling down 6.7 boards per game. She eclipsed double-figure scoring in 28 out of 33 games, including four double-doubles. Her best performance came when she scored a season-high 27 points in a win over Tuskegee.

Trinity Jones brings a magnitude of experience to the table in her fourth year with the Panthers. Jones ranked second on the team in scoring in 2024 with 12.6 points per game, while leading CAU in three-point shooting at 28% from long range.

Keyra Peterson looks to make an immediate impact in her first year with the Panthers. Peterson led Albany State in scoring last season with 11.7 points per contest. Her season-high came against Trinity Baptist when she scored 26 points.

Clark Atlanta women's basketball won the 2024-25 SIAC Regular Season and East Division Championship and finished the season with a 24-8 (15-4 SIAC) overall record.
