Lady Panthers Finish in Third Place at UWG Legends Invite

Clark Atlanta continues success on the track

CARROLLTON, Ga. — As the 2025 season rolls on, the Clark Atlanta women's track and field team finished in third place out of 15 teams competing at the UWG Legends Invite, hosted by the University of West Georgia over the weekend. The Lady Panthers posted 91 points highlighted by a few standout performances.

Shyique McGee claimed first place in the triple jump with a mark of 11.82 meters and added a second-place finish in the javelin throw at 35.58 meters, helping pace the Panthers in a strong showing across the field and track events.

Morgan Graham also made the podium in the field, placing second in the long jump with a leap of 5.53 meters.

On the track, Jayla Kennedy sprinted to second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.93 seconds and earned third in the 200-meter at 24.86. Kiyami Zimmerman secured a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking in at 1:08.57.

Lailah Sellers turned in two top-six finishes in distance events, placing fifth in the 5,000 meters (21:18.37) and sixth in the 1,500 meters (5:20.07).

The Panthers closed the meet with a third-place finish in the 4x400 meter relay, as Danielle Thompson, Jayda Brooks, Kiyami Zimmerman, and Mariah Young teamed up to finish strong.

UP NEXT

Clark Atlanta returns to the track on Saturday, April 12 as they head to Albany, Georgia to compete in the Alice Coachman Invitational hosted by Albany State University.
