PREVIEW: Men's Basketball Set to Take On No. 4W Seeded Kentucky State in SIAC Tournament Quarterfinal

Panthers enter the SIAC Tournament with No. 1 seed in the Eastern Division

ATLANTA – For the second-straight year, the Clark Atlanta men's basketball team won the SIAC Eastern Division and will enter the 2025 SIAC Tournament with a No. 1 seed. The Panthers are set to take one No. 4W Kentucky State at 8 p.m. inside Forbes Arena on Wednesday, February 5.

MATCHUP PREVIEW

Wednesday's matchup will be the 17th meeting all-time between Clark Atlanta and Kentucky State with the last faceoff taking place December 16, 2024.

The all-time series is currently tied at eight wins apiece as Clark Atlanta boasts an 18-9 overall record (15-5 SIAC) while Kentucky State sits at 13-13 overall (9-11 SIAC).

CLARK ATLANTA

The Panthers head into Wednesday's game with four players averaging double digits. Graduate student Jalen Williams (Dallas, Texas) leads the squad in scoring (13.9 ppg) which ranks 14th in the conference while also leading Clark in total field goals made with 130. Williams also led the Panthers in three-point percentage shooting 39% from downtown.

Junior Shemani Fuller (Bronx, N.Y.) ranks second second in scoring (11.7 ppg) while leading the Panthers in rebounding with an average of eight boards per contest.

KENTUCKY STATE

Kentucky State is coming off a 108-87 win at home against Edward Waters (Mar. 1) to advance to the quarterfinal. Kentucky State has four players averaging double figures led by Lavar Miller Jr. with 19.2 ppg.

LAST TIMEOUT

The Panthers closed out the regular season with a crucial 73-66 win over Allen that locked up the No. 1 seed for Clark Atlanta.

Clark Atlanta placed three players in double figures led by Xavier Griffith and Martez Jones with 19 points apiece followed by Jalen Williams with 18 points. Martez also notched a double-double performance with a game-high 11 rebounds to add to his 19 points.
