Panthers Complete Season Sweep of LeMoyne-Owen

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Clark Atlanta men's basketball team used timely defense and balanced scoring down the stretch to secure a 67–65 road victory over LeMoyne-Owen Thursday night at Bruce Hall/Johnson Gymnasium.

The Panthers (19-7, 16-6 SIAC) led 37–31 at halftime and withstood a late second-half push from the Magicians (10-13, 10-12 SIAC) to complete the season sweep.
Senior guard Chase Hill paced Clark Atlanta with a game-high 20 points, shooting 7-of-12 from the field and 3-of-6 from three-point range while adding three steals. Forward Jadyn Shider delivered an efficient performance with 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting and a team-best six rebounds.

Clark Atlanta's defense proved decisive. The Panthers forced 21 LeMoyne-Owen turnovers and converted them into 31 points while recording 14 steals as a team. Guard Jared Washington collected four steals and Darnell Evans added four assists and two steals to help control tempo.
The Panthers built early momentum behind perimeter shooting, connecting on eight three-pointers in the contest. Clark Atlanta extended its lead midway through the first half behind a scoring burst from Hill and Shider before taking a six-point advantage into the break. LeMoyne-Owen responded in the second half, trimming the deficit and briefly threatening inside the final minutes. The Magicians out-rebounded Clark Atlanta 29-21 and scored 34 second-half points, but the Panthers' defensive pressure and shot selection preserved the lead.

Forward Kharye Cayne contributed nine points and two blocks, while Jaden Martin added eight points and four rebounds off the bench. Clark Atlanta also received six points from Ny'Mire Little as the Panthers' bench totaled 16 points.Clark Atlanta shot 49.1 percent (26-of-53) from the field compared to 50.0 percent (25-of-50) for LeMoyne-Owen, but the Panthers held a decisive advantage in turnover margin (15-21) and points off turnovers.

The Panthers led for much of the contest, recording six lead changes and five ties before closing the game in the final possessions. Clark Atlanta will look to build momentum heading into its next conference matchup as the SIAC regular season approaches its final stretch.
