Softball Takes Down Agnes Scott 10-2, Lambert Notches Fifth Homer of the Season

Box Score 1 ATLANTA, Ga. – The Clark Atlanta softball team took the short trip across town to take on the Agnes Scott College Scotties in Decatur, Georgia. The Lady Panthers took game one of the series behind a strong pitching performance from sophomore Ymari Blackmon. Game two was called in the top of the fourth inning due to inclement weather with Clark Atlanta ahead 4-1.

GAME ONE: Clark Atlanta 10, Agnes Scott 2

The Lady Panthers bring home another win! M. Lambert decided to start the game off by hitting an RBI single, giving Coreya Quarterman an advance to second and giving Sarah Colbert the chance to score. The second point was put on the scoreboard by Coreya Quarterman when Myia Lambert stole second base.

Two more scores were made in the second inning by the Lady Panthers. Sarah Colbert singled to center field, RBI; Shemia Clady scored. Next, Coreya Quarterman reached first on an error by ss, RBI; Maliyah Ward advanced to third; Sarah Colbert scored, unearned. One score was made in the third inning by Johannas Bentley.

Agnes Scott decided to come in and score their first point in the fourth inning. Kenedie Thomas reached on a fielder's choice, RBI; and C. Thorson scored the team's first point.

The Lady Panthers posted two runs in the fifth inning, putting them in the lead by six runs. In the sixth frame, the last scores of the game were made. Myia Lambert homered, 3 RBI; Coreya Quaterman scored; Sarah Colbert. Agnes Scott made their last point of the game by C. Thorson.

The final score was 10-2, The Lady Panthers were left to win.

Clark Atlanta softball returns home this weekend as they play host to the Edward Waters Tigers on Saturday (April 13) in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. followed by a single game on Sunday (April 14) at 1 p.m. at Lady Panther Softball Field.
