Lady Panther Softball Takes Down Fort Valley 2-1 in Crucial Conference Series Victory

FORT VALLEY – The Clark Atlanta Lady Panthers' softball team continues to roll through conference play after taking a crucial road series over Fort Valley, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon. Clark Atlanta swept the Friday doubleheader to secure the series win before falling on Saturday. With the pair of wins, the Lady Panthers improved to 21-14 overall and 12-9 in SIAC play.

GAME ONE - Clark Atlanta 8, Fort Valley 4

Gabirela Aleman willed the Lady Panthers to a game one victory after going nearly perfect at-bat with a 4-of-5 performance with two RBIs and one run to add to her stat line. Makayla Marquez added three hits and two RBIs to bolster the offense. Daria Bush got the win in the circle with three strikeouts and four runs allowed. Clark Atlanta fell behind 2-1 in the first frame before using back-to-back three-run innings to take a 7-3 lead headed into the fourth inning. Both teams only managed one more run each, giving CAU the 8-4 win. 

GAME TWO - Clark Atlanta 4, Fort Valley 2

Sydney Strickland scored two of Clark Atlanta's four runs in game two, followed by Aleman's three hits in four at-bats to power CAU to a victory in game two. Aleman led the team in RBIs with two. Clark Atlanta faced a 2-1 deficit at the end of the fifth inning before tacking on two runs in the sixth and one in the seventh to complete the comeback and take a 2-0 series lead.

GAME THREE - Clark Atlanta 2, Fort Valley 8

The Wildcats registered 16 hits and eight runs to take game three. 

UP NEXT

The Lady Panthers return to action on April 7 as they hit the road to face Georgia College & State University for a non-conference doubleheader.
