Lady Panthers Softball Splits Agnes Scott Doubleheader

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Clark Atlanta softball team (7-11, 0-0 SIAC) split Wednesday's doubleheader against crosstown foe Agnes Scott College after dropping game one 6-0, followed by a 5-3 victory over the Scotties in game two.

GAME ONE: Agnes Scott 6, Clark Atlanta 0

Agnes Scott took game one 6-0 over the Lady Panthers. A full box score will be available at a later time due to technical difficulties at Lady Panther Field.

GAME TWO: Clark Atlanta 5, Agnes Scott 3

CAU came in hot in the first inning where Maliyah Ward and Kenedie Matthews put the first two scores on the board. Myia Lambert singled within the left side with a two-RBI pickup against Agnes Scott. J. Scott decided to hit a triple, RBI, bringing M. Lambert in to score. To end the first inning bringing the score to 4-0 in favor of the Lady Panthers, Jazmin Scott ran home on a wild pitch hit. This left Agnes Scott with no score in the first inning.

Agnes Scott decided to come into the second inning strong by putting three runs on the board. Lots of running on an error and unearned scores in this second inning. Starting with Sofia Storrs running to second base off an error by the third base. B. Greenwood got to get a run to third with another error of the third base. Both S. McCallum and B. Greenwood scored on an error, McCallums being by the third base and Greenwood by the catcher leading them both to an unearned score. S. Storrs scored on a wild pitch which wasn't earned. Leaving the score at the end of the inning (4-3).

As the game wrapped up, The Clark Atlanta Lady Panthers took it in for a win. Many outs took place for both teams but CAU left with the winning score of 5 when K. Matthews scored on a wild pitch. This left Clark Atlanta to take home the win for the second game in Wednesday's doubleheader.

UP NEXT

The Lady Panthers return to the diamond on Saturday, February 24 as they head to Fort Valley to open conference play against the Wildcats. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. on the campus of Fort Valley State University.
