CAU Softball Duo Sweeps SIAC Weekly Honors

ATLANTA, Ga. | The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its weekly softball honors. Clark Atlanta freshman Coreya Quarterman was named player of the week while junior Johannas Bentley was selected as player of the week for their outstanding performances this past weekend in a sweep over Benedict College.

Coreya Quarterman led the Panthers to a sweep over the Benedict College Tigers in their final three games of the regular season to improve to an 18-19 overall record. The St. Petersburg, Fla. native tallied 11 strikeouts in 12 innings pitched for Clark Atlanta this past weekend.

Bentley had a dominant week for CAU leading them to a sweep of conference foe Benedict College. Against the Tigers, the California native went 5-for-10 at the plate across the three-game series. She finished the week with five hits, six RBIs, and two home runs. This season, she has led the Panthers with a .415 batting percentage and .736 slugging percentage.
