CAU Track Competes At Alan Connie Shamrock Invite

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. | The Clark Atlanta women's track team competed in their third meet of the outdoor season as they headed to the Alan Connie Shamrock Invite in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina this past weekend. The Lady Panthers finished the three-day event in 21st place out of a field of 32 teams competing on the women's side.

WOMEN'S 100M QUALIFYING ROUND

Anniyah Williams got the Lady Panthers started off in the 100-meter qualifying round with a 17th place finish (12.58) followed by Kaylin Strahan in 21st (12.62) and Isis Lewis in 35th place (12.84).

WOMEN'S 200 METER

Williams logged a top-20 finish in the 200-meter race as she landed in 15th place with a time of 26.15. Strahan finished in 32nd (26.93) followed by Karon Warren in 35th (27.02). Jayla Hartley-Scott rounded out the race in 59th (27.80) while Mariah Young finished in 73rd (28.32).

WOMEN'S 400-METER OPEN

Young finished the 400-meter open in 21st place (1:06.58) with Malachia Abney not too far behind in 23rd place (1:07.66). Arianna Osa-Oni rounded out the race on 35th place (1:12.44).

WOMEN'S 400-METER SEEDED

Karon Warren logged a top-10 finish in the seeded 400-meter with a ninth place finish and a time of 58.62. Hartley-Scott finished up in 26th place (1:01.05).

WOMEN'S HIGH JUMP B FLIGHT

Maliyah White finished in ninth with a 1.43-meter high jump.

WOMEN'S LONG JUMP

Isis Lewis led the pack for CAU with a 21st-place finish (5.18m) in the long jump. Maliyah White placed 52nd (4.78m) followed by Shynique McGee in 57th (4.72m). Quonee Bercy rounded out the Lady Panthers in the long jump with an 81st-place finish and a 4.11-meter leap.

WOMEN'S SHOT PUT

Kaia Barnett finished 35th in the women's shot put with a 9.88-meter toss.

WOMEN'S 4X100 METER RELAY

In the 'A' heat the Lady Panthers placed ninth (49.74) while the 'B' heat finished in 21st (52.30).

WOMEN'S 4X400 METER RELAY

The 'A' heat added four points to the team score with a fifth-place finish (4:01.21) in the 4x400 relay followed by the 'B' heat in 15th place with a time of 4:30.92.

NEXT UP

The Lady Panthers hit the track again on Thursday, March 23, as they head to the Morehouse Relays in Atlanta, Georgia.
