Men's Basketball Ranked 22nd Nationally in CBB Nation 24/7 Poll

Panthers 6-0 start earns them national recognition

ATLANTA, Ga. -- After their first 6-0 start since 1995, the Clark Atlanta men's basketball team is ranked 22nd in this week's College Basketball Nation 24/7 Division II Top 25 poll.

The Panthers have opened the season on a historic run after securing wins over West Florida, Valdosta State, Montevallo, Fisk University, Voorhees, and Clayton State. Clark Atlanta also capped off their exhibition slate with an upset win over Division I Mercer University in their home opener.

"Since stepping foot on campus all of our guys have completely brought into the culture we have been instilling in them, " said head coach Alfred Jordan. "Although we have a lot more work to be done, I'm happy that our HBCU is gaining national recognition."

Under the leadership of Coach Jordan, Clark Atlanta currently leads the SIAC in scoring offense sporting an average of 87.8 points per contest with a plus 13.5-point scoring margin over opponents. The Panthers blazing 6-0 start is the best since the 1995 season when Clark Atlanta started the season 15-0 for the first time in school history.

Clark Atlanta men's basketball begins their conference slate on Saturday, Dec. 2 as they hit the road to face the Spring Hill Badgers at 2 p.m. in Mobile, Alabama. Fans can follow the action on hbcugo.tv or LiveStats.
