Panthers Open Three-Game Road Slate Against Clayton State on Wednesday

Clark Atlanta men's basketball looks to remain undefeated

ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Clark Atlanta University men's basketball team will play their first game in almost a week as they head to Morrow, Georgia tomorrow to take on Peach Belt Conference opponent Clayton State. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. inside the Loch and Mason Barfield Court. 

The Panthers head into Wednesday's game sporting a 5-0 record and their best start since the 1995 season. 

Scouting the Panthers  
  • Clark Atlanta leads the conference in scoring through the first five games averaging 88 points per contest.
  • The Panthers currently shoot 48 percent from the field, 32 percent from three, and 70 percent from the charity stripe. 
  • Chris Martin is ranked 1st in the SIAC in scoring with a dominating 24.6 points per game to lead the Panthers. 
  • Andrew Stewart has found success from three-point range, shooting 40 percent from downtown which is good for 3rd in the league.
  • Kharye Cayne sits at 2nd in the conference in blocks per game (2.4) while Shemani Fuller is ranked 5th (1.8).
Scouting Clayton State
  • The Lakers average 77.8 points per game while allowing opponents 75.5 per contest.
  • Clayton State shoots 48 percent from the field, 34 percent from behind the arc, and 65 percent from the foul line. 
  • CSU sits at 2-2 overall through their first four games. 
History
  • Wednesday's game will be the seventh meeting all-time between the two programs dating back to 1995. The Panthers lead the series 4-2 after escaping the Loch with a 94-89 victory during the 2021-22 season.
