Hargrove and Jackson Log Top-Ten Finishes, Panthers Compete at SIAC Championships

MACON, Ga. – The Clark Atlanta men's and women's cross country teams capped off the 2023 season with competition at the 2023 SIAC Cross Country Championships at the Georgia Premier Cross Country Course in Macon, Georgia on Friday morning.

Elijah Hargrove (Bloomfield, Conn.) finished fifth overall out of 99 runners in the men's 8K race, followed by Aliyah Jackson (Fairfax, Va.) placed sixth out of 85 runners in the women's 5K to give CAU two top-10 finishers.

WOMEN'S 5K

Jackson was the first Lady Panther across the finish line in sixth place with a time of 22:08.8.
Jayla Hartley-Scott (New York, N.Y.) finished in 26th place (24:52.8) followed by Karon Warren (Carson, Calif.) in 30th place (25:18.2).

Shakeria Freeman (Atlanta, Ga.) crossed the finish line just six spots after Warren in 36th place, clocking a time of 25:47.2. Naomi Andrews finished in (Brandon, Fla.) 41st place with a time of 26:47.1. Miracle Smith (Newtown Center, Mass.) rounded out the race in 50th place (27:47.2).

MEN'S 8K

Hargrove led the charge for Clark Atlanta, charting a fifth-place finish with a time of 28:46.0 to pace the Panthers. Benjamin Raspberry (Douglasville, Ga.) finished in 26th place with a time of 33:21.3 on the day.

Lamin Secka (Douglasville, Ga.) clocked a time of 34:35.6 for a 40th place finish. Christion Landers crossed the finish line in 60th place (37:41.8) followed by Justin Johnson in 73rd with a time of 40:55.7.
