CAU Visits Streaking Miles Tonight On the Road

The Clark Atlanta University Panthers will look to slow down streaking Miles College tonight when they do battle at 7:30 p.m., Central time.

The game's live stats can be followed by going to https://milesgoldenbears.com/sidearmstats/mbball/summary.

Clark Atlanta (7-9, 3-6 SIAC) is coming off an 86-76 victory over Allen University in which they didn't trail at all the entire game.  The win broke a three-game losing streak that came after a three-game winning streak.

The Panthers continue to be led by junior Chris Martin and freshman Jalen Williams.  Martin is averaging 19.5 points per game and tallied 24 points in the Allen win.  Martin has scored in double figures in 14 of 16 games he has played this year.  Williams, also a guard, averages 14.2 points per game and is second in rebounding to Martin with nearly six boards per game.  Justin Longstreet has also come up big for CAU, averaging 11.8 points per game, which includes a 40-point outburst against Valdosta State earlier this season.

They come up against a Miles team that is 16-3 overall and is 10-1 in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.  They lead the SIAC West Division by nearly three games over Tuskegee. Miles has won ten straight games and haven't lost since they fell to Benedict 68-67 in early December.

The Golden Bears are led by Yasim Hooker, who averages 12.8 points per game, while also leading Miles with nearly two steals per game.  Anthony Fairley has averaged just over ten points per game and leads his team in rebounding with 6.4 per contest. Roger Davis is averaging 11.5 points in 11 games while Brandon Miller is scoring just under ten points per game.

The two teams last played each other in the SIAC Basketball Tournament in March 2020, a game in which CAU lost a close game 65-59 in the tourney semifinal round. But since 2017, CAU has won four of six games with Miles.
