After a short, unexpected break, the Clark Atlanta University Panthers are back on the court tonight when they visit Edward Waters University in Jacksonville, Fla., at 7 pm.

The Panthers (5-6) have only played once in January when they defeated Fort Valley State 79-74 on the road on January 8. After that, three games were postponed due to Covid-19 precautions.
One of those games was with Edward Waters (7-9). The Tigers had won six of their first 11 games but lost four in a row until they defeated the College of Coastal Georgia 77-74 Monday.   They are led by senior guard/forward Elias Harden, an Atlanta-area native who has twice been named the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference's Men's Basketball Player of the Week this season. Harden is among the
nation's top 25 3-point shooters, averaging nearly 41 percent of his shots from outside the arc.
Clark Atlanta counters with junior
Chris Martin, the Panthers leading scorer with 21.1 points per game. Martin has averaged 30 points in his last three games, including pouring in 31 in CAU's last game against FVSU. Two weeks ago, Martin was the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
Jalen Williams, a freshman guard from Dallas, Tx., has been just as steady, averaging 13.8 points per game and leading the Panthers in rebounding with 6.4 per game.
After tonight's game, the Panthers return to Atlanta on Monday, Jan. 24 when they host Albany State at 8 p.m. after the women's game.
