The Lady Panthers (4-10, 4-2 SIAC) are not only looking to hand Savannah State (13-0, 7-0 SIAC) their first loss of the season. CAU is looking to keep pace in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's East Division race where they are two games behind first place Savannah State and a game and-a-half behind one-loss Benedict.Â
CAU hasn't played since defeating Fort Valley State 76-67 on Jan. 8 due to three games being postponed. But in that game, sophomore forward/center
Corriana Evans continued her hot play as of late, scoring 30 points and pulling down 17 rebounds. Â Evans is averaging 12.9 points and eight rebounds this season but has 18.3 points per game and pulled 14 rebounds in her last three games. Evans also has blocked 18 shots this season.
Senior guard
Reagan Jackson continues to lead the Lady Panthers in scoring this season, pouring 18.1 points per game. Jackson has scored in double figures in every game this season, including a season-high 33 points against West Georgia in mid-November.  Sophomore guard
Denise Stine has also been playing well, averaging 9.4 points per game and pulling down 5.8 boards per game, which is second on the team to Evans.
Savannah State is coming off an 88-50 win over Fort Valley State Saturday, their eighth game this season in which the Lady Tigers have won by ten or more points.  They are led by three players who score in double figures so far this season: leading scorer
Le'Andrea Gillis who averages 15.2 points a game, followed closely byÂ
Bria Gibbs (12.3 ppg) andÂ
Azhana Maxwell (10.6 ppg).
Since Savannah State rejoined the SIAC, the two teams have played two close games. In 2020, Savannah State defeated CAU 77-74 and 80-77.
