After splitting a doubleheader to open the season against Talladega College Wednesday, the Clark Atlanta University Lady Panthers softball team is back on the field this weekend, opening a four-game series with Fort Valley State University today at 2 p.m. at Lady Panther Field.

The Lady Panthers (1-1) took a 4-3, comeback win over Talladega Wednesday, but fell 15-12 in a slugfest in which they erased an eight-run deficit to pull within two, only to fall just short in the end.

Johannas Bentley led the way for the Lady Panthers on Opening Day with Kelly banging out a single, a tripe, two doubles and scoring three times, while Bentley had three singles, a double, four RBIs and scored twice.
Paityn White walked three times and scored three times.
FVSU (0-2) has lost their only two games this season, both to Wesleyan College in a doubleheader on Feb. 28. They fell 6-1 in the first game and 12-3 in the second game.
The Lady Panthers will play FVSU again at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. today and again tomorrow at the same times.
