Fresh off winning four-of-six games during last week's Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Crossover, the Clark Atlanta University Lady Panthers softball team will host Fort Valley State in a big three-game series this weekend at Lady Panthers Field.

The Lady Panthers (8-9, 4-2 SIAC) will play FVSU (5-13, 2-4 SIAC) in a doubleheader Saturday with games beginning at 2 p.m. and approximately 4 p.m.

It's a big series for the Lady Panthers who are tied with Benedict for second place in the SIAC East race, both with 4-2 records.  They both trail East leader Albany State who are 6-2 so far this season.

The Lady Panthers continue to be paced by junior pre-season All-SIAC player Tatianna Kelly, a utility player who plays in the infield and pitches so far this season.   Kelly hit .429 with nine hits and two home runs during the Crossover.  Chase Gray-Still hit .533 with eight hits, eight RBIs and a double last weekend, while Keshonna Terrell had seven hits, two triples and eight RBIs in batting .438.

On the mound, Skylar Smith went 3-0 with a 1.57 earned run average during the six games last weekend.

Fort Valley State opened last weekend's Crossover with a win over Miles before dropping four straight games.  They ended the Crossover with a victory over Tuskegee.
