The Clark Atlanta University Lady Panthers track and field team wrapped up the 2018 season with a third-place finish in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships in Albany, Ga.
The Lady Panthers finished with 117.5 points, behind Albany State and their 144 points, and women's SIAC champs, Benedict which had 219 points.
Jazmine Bowser led the Lady Panthers with a first-place finish in the triple jump, second in the long jump, and third-place finishes in the javelin, high jump, and the heptathlon. Bowser's performance earned her the Women's Outstanding Field Performer award, as well being the High Point Field Performer.
Kelly Reese won the heptathlon, where she finished in the high jump and 800-meters, third in the 100-meters, second in the 200-meters, fourth in the javelin and high jump, and sixth in the shot put. Reese also placed second in the pole vault.
Krystal Bobo won the hammer throw with a throw of 41.55 meters.
Shahara Mitchell broke the Clark Atlanta record in winning the shot put with a throw of 13.62 meters. Mitchell also was second in the javelin, fourth in the discus and fifth in the hammer throw.
Tamara Julkes was fourth in the 3,000-meter run, seventh in the 5,000 meters, and 9
th in the 1,500-meters;
KaTara Burks was eighth 3,000 meters, 10
th in the 1,500 meters, sixth in the 800 meters, 10
th in the 5,000 meters, and sixth in the 10,000 meters.
Arianne Stubbs finished fourth in the pole vault, 13
th in the 1,500 meters, and 11
th in the 5,000 meters.
Ashley Younger was fourth in the 100 meters, and fifth in the 200 meters.
Kierra King was 13
th in the long jump.
The Lady Panthers picked up six spots on the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Conference team.
