Clark Atlanta University Athletics Announces the Addition of Women's Golf

Clark Atlanta adds it's 11th NCAA Division II Varsity Sport

ATLANTA, Ga. The Clark Atlanta University Athletics Department announced the addition of women's golf as its 11th NCAA varsity sport, with competition set to begin in 2026-27. Clark Atlanta becomes the third HBCU women's golf program in the state of Georgia.

Clark Atlanta women's golf teams will compete as members of the Peach Belt Conference. While this is the first time Clark will sponsor women's golf, the Panthers previously had a men's golf team in the early 2000s.

"Launching women's golf at Clark Atlanta University represents more than the addition of a new sport—it represents opportunity." said Dr. Jerel Drew, Director of Athletics "Being the only HBCU in Atlanta with a women's golf program positions us to open doors for young women who aspire to compete, lead, and succeed in spaces where they have historically been underrepresented. This program reflects our commitment to growth, equity, and providing our student-athletes with access to opportunities that extend well beyond the course."

With the addition of women's golf, Clark Atlanta will offer 11 NCAA Division II intercollegiate athletic programs, continuing the University's investment in providing student-athletes with opportunities to compete at a high level while pursuing their academic goals.

With the announcement of the addition of women's golf, a national search for a head coach will begin immediately.
