The Clark Atlanta University Lady Panthers will look to keep their four-game winning streak going today when they visit Benedict at 1 pm.
The Lady Panthers are 11-2 and in first place in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference East Division, 13-7 overall. Benedict is in fourth place with a 7-6 conference record and 7-14 overall record.
The last time these two teams matched up was in Atlanta at L.S. Epps Gymnasium on Jan. 20 when the Lady Panthers gutted out a 54-52 overtime win.Â
Lauren Turner hit two free throws with 15 seconds left in overtime to win the game and take sole possession of first place. Â Â CAU outrebounded Benedict, but both teams struggled with their shooting, with Benedict hitting only 28 percent of their shots while CAU hit 25 percent of theirs.
Turner, the SIAC's leading rebounder, had 15 points in that game, while
Marissa Mandeldove and
Naomi Holloway, - the conference's top assists and steals leader and the fifth-best scorer – each had 12.
