Box Score Naomi Holloway scored 18 points while 
Marissa Mandeldove added 14, but the Clark Atlanta University Lady Panthers dropped their second in a row, 71-55 to Albany State Saturday in Albany, Ga.
The Lady Panthers fall to 7-2 in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and now are in second place in the SIAC East Division, a game behind Claflin.   Albany State (10-9, 6-3 SIAC) is a game behind CAU in third place.
Saturday, the Lady Panthers hit only 16 of their 69 shots from the field (23 percent), including just five shots in the second half. 
Despite their shooting woes, the Lady Panthers fought hard in the first half with the lead going back and forth throughout the half.
Jonae Lee's layup with 52 seconds left in the half gave the Lady Panthers a 29-26 lead.  But ASU answered with two baskets before the end of the half to take a 30-29 lead into the break.
But the Lady Panthers only hit one field goal in the third quarter -nine points total - as ASU extended their lead to as many as twelve points.
CAU pulled to within eight – 54-46 – on Mandeldove's free throw with 4:49 remaining. But the Golden Rams ended the game with a 17-9 run to close the win.
Holloway finished with 18 points, two rebounds, three assists and three steals, while Mandeldove had 14 points, four rebounds, eight assists and three steals. 
Lauren Turner had nine points and eight rebounds, while I'Nayiah Moore grabbed a team-high ten rebounds to go with her three points.  
Courtney Hall added five points, seven rebounds, two blocks and two steals.
Albany State was led by Achanti Layfield's 15 points, with Kayla Green adding 14.
The Lady Panthers are back in action on Monday, Jan. 15 when they visit Fort Valley State University.
