ALBANY, Ga. - The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference wrapped up the 2017 Track & Field season with the championship meet from the campus of Albany State University where Clark Atlanta finished third overall. The Panthers were successful in securing three event titles.
Curshonne Johnson claimed the 10,000 Meter run with a time of 44:23.12 to win the event by 26 seconds. Teammate
Tamera Julkes took bronze in the event (45:47.93).
Krystal Bobo took first with a distance of 38.65 Meters in the Hammer Throw while
Shahara Mitchell also was victorious in the Javelin with a throw of 34.06 Meters.
Jazmine Bowser won the Javelin (31.99 Meters) during the Heptathlon competition while also finishing runner-up in the long Jump with a leap of 4.87 Meters. Bowser finished the Heptathlon in second place with a point total of 3,628 points.
Clark Atlanta will run one last time in an effort to qualify for the NCAA Championships with a meet in Rome, Ga. from the campus of Shorter University on May 13. The NCAA Championships are scheduled to be run from Bradenton, Fla. from May 23-28.
