COLUMBUS, Ga. - The Clark Atlanta track and field team competed in a pair of meets this weekend hosted by Columbus State University. Saturday saw CAU finish fourth of nine teams while the Panthers finished second of six teams on Sunday.
The Cougar Invitational (
RESULTS) saw
Jazmine Bowser take first in a trio of events - high jump, long jump and triple jump - while
Shahara Mitchell added a pair of second place finishes in the discus and javelin.
The 4x100 Relay team of Imani Pressley,
D'Yanna McCaskill,
Lanique Ellis and Zaire Hammond also claimed second place with a time of 51.94.
CSU hosted the Adonica Ferguson Relays (
RESULTS) on Sunday with Clark Atlanta earning a pair of first place socres by Mitchell in the shot put and javelin while also placing second in the discus. Bowser completed the 1-2 sweep for CAU in the javelin and also was runner-up in the triple jump.
The Panther 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 relay teams also finished second in each event.
Clark Atlanta runs again on March 1 from Jacksonville State University in the Choccoloco Challenge.
