COLUMBUS, Ga. - Clark Atlanta track and field opened the 2016 season at the Cougar Invite hosted by Columbus State. The women's team finished fourth of 15 teams while the men placed eight of 11.
HOW IT HAPPENED (WOMEN'S MEET):The women earned points in the 400 with a second place effort by
Cynthia Smith (59.37). Smith later added a seventh place finish (2:29.71) in the 800.

D'Yanna McCaskill (1:09.46) finished fourth in the 400 Hurdles.

CAU placed the 4x100 Relay team (53.57) seventh while the 4x400 Relay team (4:07.73) ended up runner-up.

Jazmine Bowser (5'3") won the high jump and placed second in the triple jump (36'0.75").

Shahara Mitchell (41'8") and
Emani Jones (35'8.75") scored in second and sixth place finishes. Jones added sixth place points (101'11") in the discus.

Krystal Bobo (94'7")placed sixth in the javelin.

HOW IT HAPPENED (MEN'S MEET):Kilan Pace scored a 12th place finish in the 400 (52.75) and took home the top point effort in the 400 Hurdles (57.57).

CAU placed the 4x100 Relay team (49.47) in fifth place while the 4x400 Relay (3:39.70) scored a seventh place effort.

Edregas O'Neal was seventh (38'1.25") in the shot put with
Collin Smith placing fourth (143'11") in the javelin.
