Box Score 2 Atlanta, Ga. --- When the Clark Atlanta University Lady Panthers put the Anderson University Trojans on their schedule for this season, they knew they would be playing against some top competition, and they would be proven right as AU came away with both games of the doubleheader, 14-0 and 13-1.
Game one saw the Trojans jump out to a early 2-0 lead after one inning thanks to a two-run homerun by Molly Child in the top of the first. They would not stop there, as back-to-back six-run innings would push their lead to 14-0, a lead they would maintain through the final two innings in the run-shortened game. Lauren Rudesheimp would pitch all five innings for AU, allowing just one hit and striking out nine.
The second game of the day saw Anderson once again jump out to a big lead early on, as they dropped 10 on CAU in the top of the first inning. Veranae Woods provided the only offense for the Lady Panthers, hitting a solo home-run in the bottom of the fifth, breaking up what had been a no-hit effort by Augie Pena.
Clark Atlanta will get right back into play on Sunday, as they host Winston-Salem State for a doubleheader at Panthers field. The first game is slated to start at 1 pm, with the second game following shortly after.
