Lady Panthers Drop Tough One to Albany State

Box Score Atlanta, Ga. --- The Clark Atlanta University Lady Panthers looked as though they might pull a upset against Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) foe Albany State on Monday night, but were unable to hold on at the end, falling 66-60.

CAU held a six-point lead with 7:21 remaining after senior Denissea Law's two free-throws, but would watch helplessly as Albany State would then go on a 13-0 run over the next seven minutes, before the Lady Panthers (8-15, 4-12 SIAC) were able to get a bucket with just 19 seconds left.

Mykala Jones once again led CAU in scoring with 19, while Denissea Law added 15 in her final home game for Clark Atlanta. Artisha Holston put up a game-high 20 points for the visiting Golden Rams.

After the game, the Clark Atlanta University Department of Athletics, along with the women's basketball team, honored it's two seniors Iyana Spatcher, and the aforementioned Denissea Law.

The Lady Panthers have one more regular season game as they travel to Fort Valley State on Monday, February 23rd. Tip-off is slated for 5:30. For more information, please log on to clarkatlantasports.com.
