Lady Panthers Drop Both Games of Doubleheader on the Road

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Columbus, Ga. --- The Lady Panthers of Clark Atlanta University went into their road games against the Columbus State University Cougars with high hopes of coming out with a couple of early season victories, but were unable to do so, falling 8-0 and 14-0.

KaShaira Givens pitched all four innings in the run-shortened first game for the Lady Panthers, while Taylor Turne recorded 13 strikeouts for the Cougars. In the second game, sisters Veranae and Shalonda Woods split the pitching duties for CAU, with Lindsey DeFe recording 11 strikeouts in the win for CSU.

Clark Atlanta (0-7) was unable to match the quick offensive starts of Columbus State, which saw them score five runs in the bottom of the first in game one, and 10 runs in the bottom of the second in game two.

The Lady Panthers will look to right the ship as they return home to face off with Anderson University on Tuesday, February 17th, in doubleheader action. First pitch is slated for 1 PM, with the second game beginning immediately following game one. All Lady Panthers home softball games are played at Panthers Field, which is located next to the football stadium on campus.
