Box Score Frankfort, Ky. --- Despite holding the halftime lead, the Clark Atlanta University Panthers were unable to come away with the victory on the road Saturday afternoon against Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) foe Kentucky State University, losing 92-77. The Panthers had four players in double-digits, including three with a team high 14 points (Enoch, Green, Harper). Malcolm Smith led the way for the Thorobreds with 18 points.
The Panthers (3-8, 2-2 SIAC) led the Thorobreds 41-38 at the half, but were unable to overcome their opponents shooting 70.4% from the field in the second half. This shooting performance allowed Kentucky State to outscore CAU 54-36 in the final 20 minutes, giving them the difference they needed to seal the game.
Damien Enoch led the Panthers in rebounds, totaling nine on the game, to go with one block and one steal.
The Panthers will continue their road trip as they take on Lane College on Monday night. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM (Central Time). CAU will return home Thursday, January 15th, as they play host to fellow SIAC school Tuskegee. Tip-off for that game is scheduled for 8 PM.
