Williams Carries Lady Panthers in Conference Win

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Fort Valley, Ga.--- A three-run shot over the left field fence by senior Alia Williams secured a 5-4 over Fort Valley State for Clark Atlanta University softball team on the road Sunday.

After trailing for much of the contest, freshman Brittany Gonzalez put the Lady Panthers on the board with a two-run single that knotted the game at 2 in the top of the sixth inning. Fort Valley reclaimed the lead 3-2 to end in the inning. Facing two outs and two strikes, Williams' homer gave CAU a 5-3 advantage that they would not reliniquish. The Lady Panthers' win came only on four hits compared to 11 for the Lady Wildcats. CAU (13-13, SIAC 9-7) made it look easy in game two and controlled the game from the start for a 15-2 victory.

Next, Clark Atlanta will travel to face Claflin March 26th and Benedict March 27th, both on the road, before hosting Benedict at HOME Saturday, March 29, in a 2 p.m., double-header at the Lady Panthers softball field.
