Boyogueno Recognized as Peach of an Athlete Role Model

Atlanta, Ga. --- Clark Atlanta University scholar-athlete Vonnick Boyogueno was recently chosen as an honoree for the 31st Annual Peach of an Athlete Role Model Banquet. This marks the third consecutive year a CAU student-athlete has been chosen for this honor.

The Peach of an Athlete Role Model distinction, given out by the Atlanta Area Council and the Boy Scouts of America, seeks to find resident amateur athletes or collegiate student-athletes in Georgia who have distinguished themselves by their character, scholastic achievement, academic excellence, and community service efforts.

Boyogueno, a junior from Shakopee, Minnesota, is involved in numerous academic, professional and community based programs, to go along with her outstanding academic record. As an accounting major, she currently holds a 3.69 cumulative GPA, is a Clark Atlanta University Presidential Scholarship recipient, three-time Dean's List honoree, and is part of the CAU Honors Program. In addition, she has participated in the Goldman Sachs Women's Leadership Conference, the Deloitte NextGen Leadership Conference, and is a member of the National Association of Black Accountants. She has volunteered numerous hours of community service with the Sporty Girls Sports Camps, Read Across America, Norcross Elementary Diabetes Walk and the AIDS walk to name a few.

Furthermore, Boyogueno serves as president of the CAU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), while also serving as the NCAA Division II South Region National SAAC representative from the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC).

In addition to all of these accomplishments, she has still found time to excel on the courts for the Lady Panthers tennis team. She is a three-time SIAC All-Conference player in singles and doubles and two-time SIAC All-Academic team selection during her career at CAU.

The Peach of an Athlete Role Model Banquet will be held March 24th at the Cobb Energy Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
