Panthers Snap Three Game Losing Streak

Box Score Atlanta, Ga.---A dominating running attack led by senior Bradley Battles who gained 86 rushing yards that helped the Clark Atlanta University Panthers snap a three-game losing streak with a 35-28 win over Edward Waters College in their final home game of the season Saturday.

The Panthers pounded Edward Waters in the first quarter with 21 unanswered points capped by a 60-yard punt return by senior DJ Cain and a 24-yard interception return by Larelle Muldrow. Taron Williams' 12-yard pass to Suwayne Hylton put the Tigers on the board right before the half, but trailed 28-7.

Though Edward Waters put together a fierce comeback in the fourth quarter with 21 points, it was not enough to overcome Clark Atlanta's 21-point lead. Battles led the Panthers with two touchdowns.

Defensively, Marquis Davis topped the Tigers with a game-high 13 total tackles while senior Brenard Williams finished with eight for CAU including three pass breakups. Senior defensive end Terrance Pryor added seven tackles includinig two for losses and two sacks followed by Muldrow who swarmed the Tigers with three interceptions and 70 return yards.

Next, the Panthers (3-6, 1-4) will wrap the regular season on the road against Southern University Saturday, Nov. 16th, in Baton, Rouge, Louisiana.
