Lady Panthers Suffer 18-point Loss

Box Score Atlanta, Ga.---A poor second half offensive output led to Clark Atlanta's 59-41 loss to Benedict College at Epps Gymnasium Monday.

While hitting only 4-of-27 shots (14.8 percent) from the field in the second period, the Lady Panthers's seven-point half-time lead quickly diminished. CAU also struggled from behind the arc with a 0-for-10 effort. Senior Shavon Caldwell scored a game-high 12 points on 6-of-10 from the floor to along with three assists and one steal. La'Quisha Lewis grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds though Benedict gained a slight advantage on the boards as a team 44 to 41. The Lady Tigers turned up their defense with 21 steals led by Monique Weathers who recorded five. Alexus Jones topped Benedict with a game-hgih 14 points. 

With the loss, the Lady Panthers dropped to 9-9 overall and 4-4 in the SIAC. Next, they will travel to Albany State for a 5:30 p.m., match-up with the Lady Rams, before hosting Fort Valley State at home Monday, Feb. 4, at 6 p.m.
