Atlanta, Ga. – The Clark Atlanta University Panthers men’s and women’s cross country teams both finished second this past weekend in the Georgia South Western Remembrance Run in Americus, Ga.

Markeisha Woodson led the Lady Panthers with a fifth place finish in the women’s 6K run with a time of 22:06. Other top 20 finishers for CAU were Ariel Lomax, Nekesha Whitaker, Bronze Adams, and Stanley Richemond.  As a team Clark Atlanta had an average time of 23:52.7, for a total of 75 points.

Newcomers William Stanley  and Tyree Squires finished in the men’s top ten in eighth and tenth place, respectively to led the Panthers. Stanley recorded a time of 29:46.1, while Squires finished the 8K run in 30.12.1, followed by Juan Cartledge who finished in 11^th place (30:21.4).

Next, both teams will compete in the Mercer University Invitational Saturday, Sept. 15, at 9 a.m., in Macon, Georgia.
