ATLANTA—The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) announced the pairings for the 2012 SIAC Softball Championship, which will take place Thursday, April 19th through Saturday, April 21st at Gerald Matthews Sports Complex (1935 McDonough Road, Hampton, GA 30228).
Stillman College enters this year’s 12-team double-elimination tournament as #1 seed in the west while Albany State University enters as the top seed in east. Both teams finished the regular season with a 23-3 conference mark to win the SIAC West Division and East Division, respectively.
Opening round games on Thursday, April 19th, will feature #4E Fort Valley State vs. #5W Lane and #3W Miles vs. #6E Paine at 10 a.m. as well as #4W Tuskegee vs. #5E Clark Atlanta and #3E Claflin vs. #6W LeMoyne-Owen at 12 p.m. Winners of the opening round games will advance to take on one of the top four seeds with the other teams moving to the loser’s bracket.
