Hicks Leads Clark Atlanta to a Five-Game Win Streak

No. 1 Guard Conisha Hicks
Box Score Columbia, S.C.--Sophomore guard Conisha Hicks, who has averaged 21.3 points per game in the last three games, including a season-high 32-point performance in a 68-65 overtime win over Paine College last Thursday, helps Clark Atlanta extend its winning streak to five games with a 68-65 victory against Benedict College on the road Saturday at the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena.

The Lady Tigers (12-6, SIAC 10-5) could not overcome a poor shooting night while shooting 28.6 percent (8-of-28) from the floor in the half and 37.5 percent for the game as they succumb to Clark Atlanta at home. CAU shot 44 percent from the floor and 77 percent from the charity stripe.

Alexus Jones and Santera Grooms had 13 points to lead Benedict. Clark Atlanta’s Shavon Caldwell along with Hicks hit a game-high 15 points while La’Quisha Lewis pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds and Denissea Law added 10 points.

With the win, the Lady Panthers improve to 9-10 overall and 9-7 in the SIAC. Next, they will travel to Albany State Tuesday, Feb. 7, for a 5:30 p.m., match-up. CAU topped the Lady Rams 74-66 in their first meeting.
