St. Petersburg, Fla.--With three Panthers in double-digits led by Johnnel Young's 18 points, the Clark Atlanta University men's basketball team fell 73-54 to the University of Tampa Spartans in the day one of the Eckerd College Thanksgiving Basketball Classic in St. Petersburg, Florida, Friday.

Young's performance was capped by 5-of-11 shooting from the field and a perfect performance from the charity stripe with five attempts. Jermile Fluker and Kevin James chipped in 15 and 14 points, respectively for the Panthers. As a team, CAU shot only 31 percent (20-of-64) from the floor trailed by 25 in rebounding. Next, the Panthers will face Eckerd College Saturday, Nov. 24, in a 7:30 p.m., match-up.
