Columbus, GA.- With a 6-2 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning, the fourth-seeded Lady Rams of Albany State University walked seven batters and handed No. 2 Clark Atlanta University a 7-6 victory in the first round of the 2011 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women’s softball championship tournament at the South Commons Softball Complex in Columbus, Ga., Thursday.

Albany State’s pitcher Macy Mager led the Lady Rams with two doubles and one RBI while CAU’s Lakeisha Pruitt and Elizabeth Handy smacked solo homeruns in the win. With the loss, the Lady Prams dropped to the loser bracket to face No. 4 Benedict College Friday, April 22, at 10 a.m., while Clark Atlanta advances to the quarterfinal round against No. 1 Tuskegee University Friday at 2 p.m.
