Atlanta, GA- In the second game of the Morehouse Classic, the University of West Georgia Wolves toppled the Panthers of Clark Atlanta University in a 79-53 victory Saturday at Forbes Arena.

West Georgia (2-0) jumped out early and took a 30-19 advantage into halftime. In the second period, the Wolves led by as many as 31 points to cruise to the 26-point win.

CAU’s Logan Shoffner and Royce Hamilton put up a 14-point effort in the lost. Shoffner hit 8-of-9 from the charity stripe while the Panthers shot 64 percent as a team. West Georgia’s Gavin Field who was percent from the foul line, led all scorers with a game-high 20 points and 11 rebounds.

The Panthers (0-2) will host Stillman College in a re-match of the 2011 conference championship Saturday, Nov. 19, at 8 p.m.  All CAU home games are played at Epps Gymnasium.
